The Rogrinian Union is a recently-formed semi-secessionist organization that sought to separate itself from the Rogrinian Empire it had formerly been attached to for millennia. However, very recently, the Union has sought to completely overtake and reform the Rogrinian Empire due to its overwhelming success, and has driven the scale of its ceding up to full-territory civil war. Due to the Rogrinian Empire's fixation on ramping up its military presence to operate under rules of conquest, many Rogrinians felt betrayed by their government's suggestion to adapt to strategies used by the Klemorian Empire that was responsible for mutating the species and leaving them to languish as a nation and people for thousands of years.
The Union quickly formed as a response to the Empire's militaristic awakening and ceded a pair of small systems, and the Empire sought to wrest control of these planets back into their hands. The counterattack was sophisticated enough, operating under urban guerilla tactics and espionage, that the Union had managed to seize more planets, and their appearance as the underdog seeking to halt Rogrinian expansionism has given them much public popularity, resulting in major civilian favor.
Recently, the Union had succeeded in eliminating the former leader of the Rogrinian Empire and two of their more esteemed generals, resulting in a severe advantage. This is frequently referenced in propaganda produced by the Union to refer to the Rogrinian Empire as a false standing remnant known as 'Mityis' Remnant'.
The Union has come under some criticism recently even outside of the Rogrinian Territories as, despite the focus of the Union to stop the needless military expansionist focus of the Empire, the Union is formed out of a military response and is itself a heavily military-focused government which has not settled the plan as to how to reform the Rogrinian people and their government should they prove the victor. The Union has a severe demand for military personnel out of its citizenry, and all upper echelons of the Union require military personnel to run efficiently and continue their success in the civil war.
